I have been getting a number of requests from some of our clients that they like to connect their customized emails (e.g info@mywebsite.com) with Gmail, such that they can send and receive their emails from Gmail without having to use the boring webmail.
So I decided to do a video recording to show you exactly how to do that. I also documented the process in this post just in case you prefer to scan through the text.
Receiving Emails In Gmail
Pls, note that you will need email settings details from your Cpanel.
1. Login to your Gmail Account
2. In the top right-hand corner, click on the Settings cog icon and choose Settings
3. Click Accounts and Import
4. In front of ‘Check mail from other accounts’ option, click ‘Add a mail account’.

5. Enter your Email address, e.g. toni@barastreams.com

6. Click ‘Next’ button

7. Enter your full email address as the Username
8. Enter Password for your email account
9. Enter the incoming POP Server. Choose the ‘Always use a secure connection (SSL)’ option. Make sure the port is changed to 995
10. Choose any additional options you may want
11. Click the ‘Add Account’ button
That’s it. You’re done with the first part. If all went well, you should be able to receive emails sent to your customized mail directly in Gmail.
Sending Emails In Gmail
1. Login to your Gmail Account
2. In the top right-hand corner, click on the Settings cog icon and choose Settings
3. Click Accounts and Import
4. In front of the ‘Send mail as’ option, click add another email address.

5. It will pop up the window shown below. Fill in the details, the name and customized email you want to connect.

6. Untick/Uncheck the “Treat as an alias” checkbox. (If left checked, the recipients of your emails will see a message saying “email is sent on behalf of …@gmail.com” – which isn’t what you want at all.)
7. Click the ‘Next Step’ button.

8. Enter the outgoing SMTP Server; use mail.barastreams.com
9. Enter your full email address as the Username
10. Enter Password for your email account
11. Choose Secured connection using SSL. Make sure the port is changed to 465
12. Click Add Account. If it goes through, it should show the screen below.

13. A mail would be sent to that customized email with verification code or link. Access the mail and either copy the code or click on the link.
If you’ve set up a forwarder, you should get the email in Gmail as well. Otherwise, log in to the email via webmail.

14. After you have verified, you’re done! You can now send emails using Gmail.
