This is for you if you have your emails hosted on Zoho. That is, you are subscribed to any of Zoho Mail plans, and your organization’s domain name is already configured in Zoho. Follow this step by step guide if you want to receive and send mails from your customized email (yourname@yourdomain.com) in Gmail. 

Receiving Emails In Gmail

Required Settings

  • Incoming POP Server: poppro.zoho.com
  • Port: SSL Port 995
  • Username: your customized email (e.g toni@barastreams.com)
  • Password: your email password 

Step by step guide:

1. Login to your Gmail Account

2. In the top right-hand corner, click on the Settings cog icon and choose Settings

3. Click Accounts and Import

4. In front of ‘Check mail from other accounts’ option, click ‘Add a mail account’.

5. Enter your Email address, e.g. toni@barastreams.com

6. Click ‘Next’ button

7. Enter your full email address as the Username (e.g toni@barastreams.com)

8. Enter Password for your email account

9. Enter the incoming POP Server. Use: poppro.zoho.com

10. Choose the ‘Always use a secure connection (SSL)’ option. Make sure the port is changed to 995

11. Choose any additional options you may want

12. Click the ‘Add Account’ button

That’s it. You’re done with the first part. If all went well, you should be able to receive emails sent to your customized mail directly in Gmail.

Sending Emails In Gmail

Required Settings

  • Outgoing SMTP server: smtppro.zoho.com
  • SSL Port 465
  • Username: your customized email (e.g toni@barastreams.com)
  • Password: your email password 

Step by step guide:

1. Login to your Gmail Account

2. In the top right-hand corner, click on the Settings cog icon and choose Settings

3. Click Accounts and Import

4. In front of the ‘Send mail as’ option, click add another email address.

5. It will pop up the window shown below. Fill in the details, the name and customized email you want to connect.

6. Untick/Uncheck the “Treat as an alias” checkbox. (If left checked, the recipients of your emails will see a message saying “email is sent on behalf of …@gmail.com” – which isn’t what you want at all.)

7. Click the ‘Next Step’ button.

8. Enter the outgoing SMTP Server; use: smtppro.zoho.com

9. Enter your full email address as the Username (e.g toni@barastreams.com)

10. Enter Password for your email account

11. Choose Secured connection using SSL. Make sure the port is changed to 465

12. Click Add Account. If it goes through, it should show the screen below.

13. A mail would be sent to that customized email with verification code or link. Access the mail and either copy the code or click on the link.

If you’ve set up a forwarder, you should get the email in Gmail as well. Otherwise, log in to the Zoho email account.

14. After you have verified, you’re done! You can now send emails using Gmail.
